The Importance Of World War II
World War II is great way to develop a foundation for students to understand the creation of modern geography, politics, and culture. So many of the problems and phenomenons that effects our world today stemmed from a war that occurred over 60 years ago. Take a look at the crisis in the Ukraine, the Middle East and the relationship between the United States and Russia; all these events can be linked to consequences of World War II. By the end of this lesson plan you, the student, will have a basic understanding of the causes and effects of World War II and how the outcome of the war has shaped the World today. Just yesterday, the oldest survivor of the Holocaust passed away at the age of 110. Unfortunately the number of first hand witnesses and survivors of WWII are becoming less and less everyday. It is important that a new generation of students carries on the stories and history of this great human tragedy to ensure that future generations never forgot what happened.
